To fix the negative issue with Early Start can you do the following:
1. Upgrade Backup Manager if not already on latest version (start Backup Manager, Click Action-->About and check against iaso.com/downloads). If need to upgrade the easiest way is to uninstall completely using control panel, download and install using same account login name, password and encryption password. It will complain about account already in use just click 'yes'
2. Stop the Windows Service 'Backup Service Controller"
3. Then execute the following command at the cmd prompt (c:\program files\backup manager\) ClientTool.exe session.negative.size.fix
You will likely see messages saying fixing system-statebackupPlugin...
4. Start Windows service, start Backup Manager and check all ok.
